Films in association with the European Commission
held a seminar on Globalised Media
on Friday
April 13th 2007 in The Reuters Building,
New York.
Today's
media has a global view. Our news is the
world's news. Economic expansion in China
causes prices to rise at the petrol pumps
in New York. More and more the media has
a role to play not just in raising awareness
of world development issues, but in actually
being a catalyst for change. But with this
new power comes new responsibilities. Today's
media doesn't just inform, it challenges
its audience, it provokes a response.
Organized
in co-operation with the UN News and Media
Division.
